About
Adam Shohet is a Chicago-based trumpet player currently working towards a BM in Trumpet Performance at DePaul University. Adam was raised in Houston, Texas and began his musical career when he started studying piano at a young age. His focus shifted to the trumpet in the 6th grade, and is now centered on contemporary and orchestral music. Adam plays in a variety of styles and is a member of several projects in addition to Origin Brass. Recently, he has performed with Chicago Symphonic Winds, The King of Mars, and regularly plays at church services in and around the city of Chicago. Alongside working toward a degree, his goals include furthering modern trumpet technique and expanding the repertoire for brass quintet through commission and presentation of new works. Adam believes firmly in the connective and unifying power of music and he feels that music, as a universal method of expression, must be not only preserved but moved forward to reflect the ever changing times.
